ABOUT THE GREATER PORTLAND IMMIGRANT WELCOME CENTER

The Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center serves as a hub of collaboration to strengthen the immigrant community through language acquisition, economic integration and civic engagement. We achieve that mission through four unique programs:

The iEnglish Project: Less than 4% of English learners in the U.S. have access to the quality English instruction they need for work and community. We’re working to change that.

Community Integration: Proactively supporting Maine’s immigrants by helping them to engage in civic life.

Business Hub: Helping immigrants understand, navigate, and thrive as an integral part of the Maine business community.

Women Lead: Run by women for women, Women Lead empowers immigrant women to reach economic self-sufficiency through the pursuit of their professional, entrepreneurial, or educational goals.
