#PowerOfWe: Digital Language Lab Launch and Center Expansion Ribbon Cutting

A Special Invitation

On October 26th, the Immigrant Welcome Center celebrates the expansion to the 4th floor which will house the three pillars of our programming: the iEnglish Project | Digital Language Lab, the Citizenship and Civic Engagement Initiative, and the Immigrant Business Hub.

Musicians from Palaver Strings will collaborate with Portland based Iraqi immigrants, Kifah Abdulla and Jawad Al-Fatlawi, to showcase the experiences of Iraqi immigrants in Maine through spoken word and music. Representatives from the business, non-profit, philanthropy and the communities we serve will participate in a ribbon cutting officially opening the new space.

Special guests include our corporate catalysts MEMICClark InsuranceWEXCportCredit UnionMaine Health and UNUM.

For the ribbon cutting, we will be joined by guests of honor Congresswoman Chellie Pingree, Tony Payne, Senior Vice President for External Affairs at MEMIC, and Quincy Hentzel, CEO of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center believes in the Power of We! By working together, we can make great things happen. Find out more here about the exciting new IWC programs.
