Africa and the U.S.: A Vision for Our Future

What: Join the World Affairs Council of Maine in welcoming African Union Ambassador to the U.S. Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao to Portland, ME. Ambassador Chihombori-Quao will reflect on the long-standing relationship between the United States and Africa and share her vision for its future. 

What does a robust trade and investment partnership between the U.S. and Africa look like? How does the establishment of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) create opportunities for strengthening these strategic partnerships, and how does the Diaspora play a role in reinforcing them? Her Excellency shares her vision for the future of A.U.-U.S. relations and the joint strategic interest of a prosperous, peaceful and integrated Africa.

Thanks to generous community supporters, this program is free and open to the public. RSVP not required, but strongly encouraged. Doors open at 5:30pm.
