Understanding our Community Crisis Response System

What: TIP (Trauma Intervention Program) Portland Maine is hosting this event. When an unexpected crisis occurs and 9-1-1 is called what happens during that phone call? When the Fire Department arrives with people from the Rescue with an Ambulance what happens and why are they taking the actions they are taking? These are questions that will be answered by a Portland 9-1-1 Dispatch Supervisor and a Portland Fire Department Captain.

It is very confusing to everyone when a crisis occurs, add to that those who are new to this country who do not speak English as a first language and unfamiliar with our crisis response system and why they do what they do and how they do it. We hope to create better understanding around our community's emergency crisis response protocols.

Pizza lunch will be served, kids room available, raffle gifts of gas cards and metro passes will be awarded.

When: October 5, 2019, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
