Immigrant inclusion has a positive impact on Maine communities.
Snapshot Of Our Work
The iEnglish Project: A Digital Language Lab
English proficiency is the most significant barrier to the integration of immigrants in the social, economic and civic fabrics of the U.S society. A digital language lab is an innovative model that integrates English language learning with technology, enabling a tailored curriculum and a self-paced learning platform.
Immigrant Business Hub
Entrepreneurship being a key component of economic empowerment, this program will harness local and regional economic development initiatives in the Greater Portland area to streamline business training, facilitate technical support and provide solutions to lending that impact immigrant-led and minority-owned businesses.
Citizenship & Civic Engagement Initiative
With a strong belief that “we can’t build an inclusive economy without an inclusive democracy”, the IWC is committed to a robust and collaborative citizenship and civic engagement campaign targeting all immigrant communities in Maine.
